Large Mastiff like Dog Looking Very Bored - Boredom Busters: How to Keep Your Puppy Entertained

Boredom and variety are always interconnected when it comes to puppies misbehaving. Yes, this is true. In most cases, boredom can be managed by a variety of materials that will distract the animals to a greater extent.  Hence, the puppy may not do the abnormal or unwanted activity arising out of the boredom experienced by it.

Puppies experiencing boredom may have different types of behavioral patterns.  For example, some puppies will be seen barking continuously and some may be engaged always in some digging activities.

There are many ways to get your puppies out of their boredom activities. Many toys are available that simulate ducks, dogs, rodents, etc.

Keep your Puppy Active and Interested

These may be kept inside the crate and in particular, puppies love these items.  A buster cube with multiple treats may be placed in the puppy’s shelter. Your pup will soon understand how to roll the buster cube to get the treats he prefers.  A Buster Cube is an ingenious toy used for stimulating and activating your puppy during play and feed time.  Instead of placing the food monotonously in one place, change the place of feeding suddenly.

Such actions will be helpful for removing the boredom-like activity in your puppy. Activities pertaining to boredom need to be redefined well by the puppy owners.  This will help them to a greater extent to drive away the unwanted behavior patterns in their pet puppies.

For example, some puppies may often have destructive biting characteristics and will be seen biting a chair, cloth, mats, and everything that can see. After ruling out the teething problem if it is a puppy, provide the puppy with some large-sized balls, mineral mixture-based bone materials, etc. Such a variety of materials can help reduce boredom-related activities.

Another boredom buster is activity.  Play with your puppy often as this will also help your puppy to bond with you even quicker.  Teach your puppy how to play a variety of games.  Playing ball will be an activity most puppies love but it’s a good idea to introduce your puppy to different activities so he will have exposure to a lot of different activities.  He will tell you which ones he likes and which ones he doesn’t care for by his actions.
